The 34th Session of the Committee on Information took place in New York from 23 April to 4 May 2012, with the General Debate held from 23 through 25 April 2012.
The Committee on Information is a subsidiary body of the General Assembly, established by the General Assembly to deal with questions relating to public information.
It is responsible for overseeing the work of the Department of Public Information and for providing it guidance on policies, programmes and activities of the Department.
