Background
Since 2000, the U.S. Navy has been on the forefront in increasing the representation of women. Similarly, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s agenda for change has included historic progress in the representation of women, especially at the highest levels and within it military and police peacekeeping contingents. This panel will be dedicated to hearing change makers, in the UN and outside as they share their vision, experience and insights.
The discussion is co-sponsored by UN Women and the Permanent Mission of the united States of America to the United Nations.
