United Nations Day Concert 2012:
A Message of Peace

In celebration of the 67th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations Organization, the 2012 UN Day Concert: "A Message of Peace featuring Stevie Wonder” will take place on Wednesday, 24 October 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the General Assembly Hall at UN Headquarters in New York.

The concert is being sponsored by United Nations Messenger of Peace Mr. Stevie Wonder, in partnership with Black Entertainment Television.

Accompanied by special celebrity artists, Stevie Wonder will perform some of his best known songs. The 90-minute concert will celebrate the work and values of the United Nations, as well as serve as a call from Stevie Wonder for peace and understanding amongst all people.

Under-Secretary-General Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal of the Department of Public Information will introduce the UN Secretary-General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon, the President of the 67th Session of the General Assembly, Mr. Vuk Jeremic, and the Chief Executive Officer of Black Entertainment Television, Ms. Debra Lee, who will deliver brief opening remarks.
