Member of the Royal Thai Armed Force performs Last Post and Reveille to pay tribute to all men and women who have served and continue to serve in UN peacekeeping operations, as well as to honor the memory of those who have lost their lives in the cause of peace.

H.E. General Prem Tinsulanonda, President of Privy Council is greeted by Mr. Shashi Tharoor, Under-Secretary-General for Communications and Public Information and UNESCAP Executive Secretary Kim Hak-Su on his arrival at the UNCC to open the First International Day of UN Peacekeepers observance while Gen. Saiyud Kerdpol and Gen. Boonsrang Niumpradit look on.

Mr. Shashi Tharoor, Under-Secretary-General for Communications and Public Informations posts with David Lazarus, Chief, UNIS Bangkok and their colleagues at the UN Peacekeeping exhibition.

Ms. Michelle Lee, UNESCAP Administrative Services Division Chief closes the session by ringing the peace bell after sharing her peacekeeping experience, as a UN civilian staff with the audience while Mr. Kittisak Vardhanabhuti of UNIS -- the main coordinator of the event looks on.
