The 15th United Nations Student Conference on Human Rights took place at UN Headquarters in New York on 5-7 December 2012.

A panel discussion at the Ford Foundation on 10 December featured young activists who have played a leading role in enabling the inclusion and participation of marginalized groups. The event was moderated by Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights Ivan Simonovic. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon delivered opening remarks. A musical performance by the band Carimi from Haiti concluded the event.

Geneva
The High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, hosted a Human Rights Day event on 10 December. Videos are available at webtv.un.org
Other events included a classical music performance, a video screening, and the launch of the Arabic language version of the website of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
