2007 NATIONAL VOLUNTARY PRESENTATIONS

The AMR national voluntary presentations took place on Tuesday, 3 July 2007 at the United Nations Office in Geneva. Six countries, Bangladesh, Barbados, Cambodia, Cape Verde, Ethiopia and Ghana, had volunteered to make national presentations.

Ministers and senior officials delivered the presentations to the Council. Representatives from civil society and the private sector participated in the presentations. The presentations focused on:

  • successes and challenges that have been identified through the national consultative process in the implementation of the national development strategy designed to achieve the internationally agreed development goals (IADGs), including the MDGs,
  • the main accomplishments and challenges and the initiatives the country has undertaken to address those challenges,
  • obstacles to implementation that require regional and global cooperation.
