The World Mortality Report 2013 (ST/ESA/SER.A/347) assesses changes in mortality risks at the global, regional and country levels, focusing in particular on the implementation period of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development, from 1990-1995 to 2010-2015. It evaluates the progress of regions and countries with respect to life expectancy at birth, child mortality, mortality in the reproductive and working ages, and life expectancy at advanced ages and discusses the contributions of improvements in survival at different stages of life towards the achievement of the ICPD survival targets.
The electronic version of the World Mortality Report 2013 is a web tool that offers interactive access to the charts from the print version of the reports that analyse progress in mortality reduction since the International Conference on Population and Development. For several charts, users can highlight data points to identify the associated country, or select a country of interest from a drop-down menu to highlight that country in the chart. An additional chart enables users to select two countries to graphically compare their progress in mortality reduction by age.
