Participation of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)
Only NGOs having ECOSOC accreditation may participate in the Commission’s session. Information about official registration will be posted in early 2014.
ECOSOC-accredited NGO’s wishing to participate in the upcoming session of the Commission should pre-register online through DESA NGO integrated Civil Society Organizations (iCSO) System. Access to UN Headquarters
(a) Access to the UN building
In order to get into the building, NGO representatives must have a temporary pass (or a valid annual pass).
(b) Closed meetings
NGO representatives are welcome in the Plenary and open side events, subject to room capacity. NGO representatives are not allowed to enter closed meetings.
Submission of Statement as an Official Document
NGOs having general and special consultative status with ECOSOC may submit written statements to be circulated as official documents of the Commission. Information regarding the submission of statements, incl. word counts, deadlines etc. will be posted shortly.
Time permitting, participating NGOs in general consultative status with ECOSOC may be given the opportunity to make an oral intervention during the session, under agenda item 4. A time limit for statements will be set by the CPD Bureau.
