LDC Information: Impact Assessments
Since 2007, the CDP enhanced the information basis for the deliberations of the Committee on countries identified for graduation (see 2007 CDP report). As part of these enhanced procedures, DESA prepares an ex-ante impact assessment of the likely consequences of graduation on economic growth and development after a country has been found eligible for graduation for the first time.
Countries will be provided with the impact assessment and vulnerability profile (prepared by UNCTAD) in the year prior to the next triennial review. The countries will be given an opportunity to make an oral presentation at the expert group meeting prior to this triennial review, and also to submit a written statement to the Committee at the triennial meeting.
