Capacity Development and Advisory Services
Uzbekistan
In 2008, under DPAD's capacity development initiative, Uzbekistan was included in a list of countries selected to carry out a quantitative assessment on public spending required to achieve the MDGs and financing options. Through 2011, DPAD was able to support the Uzbek Government in adapting an integrated macro-micro modelling framework designed to better inform policy decision making and enhance macroeconomic and social policy coherence, particularly on issues related to the timely achievement of the MDGs, their financing, and the macroeconomic trade-offs this may trigger for the economy at large.
The main partner of capacity development activities in Uzbekistan was the Ministry of Economy. DPAD collaborated closely with the United Nations Development Program country office in Uzbekistan for substantive and administrative support.
