First Intensive Training Workshop

At the request of the Ministry of National Planning and Economic Policy (MIDEPLAN) of Costa Rica, DPAD in partnership with the UNDP Country Office in Costa Rica organized first intensive training workshop of the Capacity Development Project “Strengthening Macroeconomic and Social Policy Coherence through Integrated Macro-Micro Modelling” in San Jose, Costa Rica on 5-9 December 2011.

During the mission DPAD:

• reviewed the main policy questions and objectives of the capacity development project;
• described the theory underlying the macro-micro modelling framework;
• discussed the functioning of the macro-micro modelling framework using examples of various policy simulations run through the newly developed ISIM-MAMS interface.
