Cape Verde participated in various stages of the project "Graduation Strategies for Least Developed Countries in Asia and Africa". As one of the few countries that have graduated from the category, a case-study will be implemented on its experience in preparing for graduation and on the transition from the category. In addition to the country case-study, a macro-economic pilot model will be designed and implemented to assist Cape Verde in assessing the loss of benefits resulting from graduation from the LDC category and determine how a smooth transition from LDC status can be attained.
- Inception workshops for discussing data availability for the design of a macro-economic model framework for smooth transition from the LDC category
- 17–19 August 2011—Training workshop for officials form the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Statistical Office of Cape Verde, and the University of Cape Verde (Praia, Cape Verde)
- Country case study on Cape Verde's graduation from the category of Least Developed Countries
- Development and implementation of a macro-economic model framework for smooth transition from the LDC category
