Capacity Development and Advisory Services
Colombia
In 2006, under DPAD's capacity development initiative, Colombia was included in a list of countries selected to carry out aquantitative assessment of the macroeconomic shocks on poverty and inequality. Through 2010, DPAD was able to support the Colombian Government in adapting an integrated macro-micro modelling framework designed to better inform policy decision making and enhance macroeconomic and social policy coherence, particularly on issues related to the analysis of transmission mechanisms from macroeconomic shocks to their impacts on socio-economic development and social protection systems.
The main national counterpart of the DPAD in Colombia was the National Department for Planning (DNP). The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) has also been a key partner for the implementation of the capacity development activities, in terms of funding and substantive and logistical support.
