	2 November,Townhall Meeting 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Conference Room 2 Theme for the 60th DPI/NGO Conference During the annual DPI/NGO Townhall meeting, NGO representatives presented their ideas for a possible theme of the 60th Annual DPI/NGO Conference to be held in 2007. Juan Carlos Brandt, Chief of the DPI/NGO Section, and Joan Kirby, Chair of the NGO/DPI Executive Committee, hosted the event. The theme recommendations touched upon several issues including climate change, sustainable development, the role of NGOs in the UN, and the Millennium Development Goals. About 30 NGO representatives presented their recommendations orally and in writing. They will be reviewed at the first Conference Planning Committee which is to be announced by the Chair of the 60th DPI/NGO Conference.
