Michel Forst

Michel Forst Michel Forst is the Secretary General of the Commission Nationale Consultative des Droits de l’Homme de la Republique Française. He is an attorney by training who pleaded in favor of measures to improve and defend human rights in Haiti. In 2008, he was appointed as an Independent Expert by the United Nations Secretary-General on the situation of human rights in Haiti. Mr. Forst is also a founding trustee of Frontline, the International Foundation for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders. He has also worked in the human rights section of UNESCO’s Paris headquarters and served as Director General of Amnesty International in France. Mr. Forst was Secretary General of the 1998 Paris Summit for Human Rights Defenders and has managed the French League against Cancer and several other French NGOs.

Michel Forst is a national of France.
