     51/452.  Launching of global negotiations on international
                     economic cooperation for development


     At its 88th plenary meeting, on 17 December 1996, the General Assembly
decided to defer consideration of the item entitled "Launching of global
negotiations on international economic cooperation for development" and to
include it in the provisional agenda of its fifty-second session.
