           51/312.  Appointment of a member of the Board of Auditors

     At its 58th plenary meeting, on 14 November 1996, the General Assembly,
on the recommendation of the Fifth Committee, 1/ appointed the
Auditor-General of Ghana as a member of the Board of Auditors for a three-year
term of office beginning on 1 July 1997.

     As a result, the Board of Auditors is composed as follows: 
Auditor-General of Ghana,*** Comptroller and Auditor-General of India** and
Comptroller and Auditor-General of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Northern Ireland.*


     * Term of office expires on 30 June 1998.
    ** Term of office expires on 30 June 1999.
   *** Term of office expires on 30 June 2000.
