          51/310.  Appointment of members of the Advisory Committee on
                   Administrative and Budgetary Questions


     At its 58th plenary meeting, on 14 November 1996, the General Assembly,
on the recommendation of the Fifth Committee, 1/ appointed the following
persons members of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary
Questions for a three-year term of office beginning on 1 January 1997:  
Mr. Ammar Amari, Ms. Denise Almao, Mr. Leonid E. Bidnyi, Mr. Ge'rard Biraud
and Mrs. Norma Goicochea Estenoz.

     As a result, the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary
Questions is composed as follows:  Ms. Denise ALMAO (New Zealand),***
Mr. Ahmad Fathi AL-MASRI (Syrian Arab Republic),* Mr. Ammar AMARI
(Tunisia),***  Mr. Ioan BARAC (Romania),* Mr. Leonid E. BIDNYI (Russian
Federation),*** Mr. Ge'rard Biraud (France),*** Ms. Norma GOICOCHEA ESTENOZ
(Cuba),*** Mr. Vijay GOKHALE (India),** Mr. Yuji KUMAMARU (Japan),** Mr.
Mahamane MAIGA (Mali),* Mr. Jose' Anto^nio MARCONDES de CARVALHO (Brazil),**
Mr. E. Besley MAYCOCK (Barbados),* Mr. C. S. M. MSELLE (United Republic of
Tanzania),* Mr. Wolfgang STOCKL (Germany),** Mr. TANG Guangting (China)** and
Mr. Giovanni Luigi VALENZA (Italy).**
