 CONSIDERATION OF PLANS AND PROGRAMMES TO SUPPORT THE SUSTAINABLE 
 DEVELOPMENT OF SMALL ISLAND DEVELOPING STATES AND THE UTILIZATION

Adoption of texts on the sustainable development of 
small island developing States 
 
The Global Conference on the Sustainable Development of Small  
Island Developing States, 
 
Having met at Bridgetown from 25 April to 6 May 1994, 
 
1.Adopts the Declaration of Barbados 1/ and the Programme of Action  
for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing  
States, 2/ which are annexed to the present resolution; 
 
2.Recommends to the General Assembly of the United Nations at its  
forty-ninth session that it endorse the texts referred to in  
paragraph 1 above.
