               PROVISIONAL AGENDA FOR THE FORTY-SECOND SESSION
                              OF THE COMMISSION


1.   The Commission considered item 6 of its agenda at the 16th meeting, on
21 March 1997.  It had before it a note by the Secretariat containing the
draft provisional agenda for the forty-second session together with a list
of requested documentation (E/CN.6/1997/L.15).

2.   At the same meeting, the representative of the Division for the
Advancement of Women made a statement.

3.   The Commission then approved the provisional agenda for its
forty-second session together with the requested documentation (see chap.
I, sect. B, draft decision III).
