                PORTUGUESE-CAPE VERDE INITIATIVE

Elements:
     Part of Item I.4 of the Programme Work of IPF and also some relation
     with item I.2.

- Expected results:
  To collect and analyse the experiences of afforestation, reforestation and
  restoration of forests systems, especially in countries with fragile
  ecosystems affected by desertification and/or drought.  To identify the
  main constraints and to present the most relevent studies/case.  To
  contribute for indentification of practical measures and the respective
  opportunties and their impact on development and efficiency of future
  actions.

- Expected date of Completion of the Report and Language:
     End of July 1996 (Portuguese, English, French and Spanish)
