“Key Challenges Of Financing Poverty And Hunger Eradication In Latin America And The Caribbean”
A Regional Forum on the theme "Key Challenges of Financing Poverty and Hunger Eradication in Latin America and the Caribbean" will be held 17 -18 May, in Brasilia, Brazil. Hosted by the Government of Brazil and organized in cooperation with the Department for Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the meeting is part of the preparatory process that will provide input to the Annual Ministerial Review (AMR) to be held 3-4 July in Geneva at the high-level segment of ECOSOC.
Participants will examine emerging trends and challenges in the area of financing for eradication of poverty and hunger, and discuss traditional and innovative sources of financing to eliminate these scourges. The event will also feature presentations by governments, civil society and the private sector of best practices for fighting poverty, as well as of new, concrete initiatives in poverty and hunger eradication.
