The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.
Below is one of the contest entries.
Peace is for Everyone Peace is for everyone, You should understand. Peace should be spread, All across the land. Everyone listen up, This is what you’ll do. You should go out and say, "Peace is good, it’s true!" Peace means no more war, Don’t even think to fight. Not rainy and dark, But it’s sunny and bright! Everything’s so quiet, Everything’s so free! Everyone, listen up! Peace is good, you see!
