Below is one of the contest entries.
peace. my own piece of mind. peace a simple word to say, but how hard to keep. for centuries treaties were written, bonds were made, hands were clasped, all for the sake of a piece of mind. how many times is imagine sung by people? how much money is spent on peace signs? how many peace rallies are held in san fran? waging peace in a different era. why does it matter so? whether or not the messiah entered your life or not. Sunday mornings seeing stores packed instead of the churches or temples is anything worth it anymore? or is a long awaited treaty that is begging to be signed better than an ice cream cone. why is it that people will die for peace. my peace. your peace. the worlds greatest battles are over God’s peace. peace. how about peace in our hearts. how about saying hello to a stranger. how about recycling. how about taking a long hike to the wilderness. isn’t that peace. being happy is peace. today is peace. please peace come. for the sake of our piece of mind.
