Below is one of the contest entries.
STRUGGLE TO ESCAPE Dying is better than living in hell, Smiles and happy moments have faded away, It became dark as a very foggy morning. Running wildly with tears in my eyes, I hear cries and screams of innocent children, Hoping to help them in anyway, But shocked and my heart is beating 1000 times a second. I see people with their eyeballs hanging out on their cheeks. Children's skin peeling as if opening a gift. I cried and screamed so loud my voice left me. Still running trying not to step on the burned bodies lying on the ground. Suddenly an atomic bomb dropped on the ground before me, I felt myself flying like a bird trying to escape, but my shadow is still there. "Oh please help" I cried. My face is bloody and burned, couldn't open my eyes even by force. I couldn't feel the pain for a while, Then it came back. Then I hear people calling relatives names for help, Desperately begging for water. I guess I don't need help anymore because i am already dead. When shall peace come? Dying is better than living in this hell.
