Paper Cranes

Poetry for Peace Contest

The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.

Below is one of the contest entries.

Cascade of memoires
Shade teardrops fell down the eyes,
Caressing the memoires of a moisture future.
Though the thys to the upstanding sky
Yelled for the loneliness of an angel
Who begged for peoples' healing.
Wrinkles, same the hectares of cedars
Blowing the windy silence far away,
Doves and pigeons wounded in an open of boundaries sky.
Endowment of glowing stars,
Sleepy eyes in a dream full of melting cascades,
Sugar on the lips, honey on the surface of the mind;
Inner side, growing the shadows in the heart.
Haterrs hide and seek, playing with the mind,
Shallow words, deep depression, airy waves of thankful butterflies...
I love my bombing memoires,
The detonators who shake in my understanding of the world.
I love my determined concealment that supports my condolences.
This world in which, I grew up,
To love and care.
Dedicated to you, my cascading memoires.
