Paper Cranes

Poetry for Peace Contest

The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.

Below is one of the contest entries.

Why was it necessary to bomb?
There was no reason and it was wrong
To see the sad faces and the memories of the family
Makes me feel every sad
All the burned bodies destroyed homes
And blood it's a sorry moment
The people that bomb were every evil and should have been punished
