Paper Cranes

Poetry for Peace Contest

The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.

Below is one of the contest entries.

In the pictures, there was lots of destruction

People's skin is burned, bleeding and swollen

I feel bad for the people that were in a lot of pain

I think the bomb was cruel and unnecessary

I see people everywhere with peeling skin

I see buildings everywhere, caving in.
