Paper Cranes

Poetry for Peace Contest

The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.

Below is one of the contest entries.

Never again

I hope that never again will the atomic bomb be used
I believe that never again will such darkness happen
It happened once...
...and I pray that never again will that happen
We must never forget Hiroshima
We must never forget Nagasaki
But despite the loss of loved ones
WE MUST ALWAYS FORGIVE
God gives us Peace Love and Freedom everyday
We should be thankful to God.
Never again tears, never again pain
Please, never again!
I believe that never again will such darkness happen.
I belive in Peace Love and Freedom everyday.
There will be peace if we all stand toghether
We must not lose courage
We can find peace
Find eternal peace in your heart
And don't give up in what you believe.
PEACE! PEACE! PEACE!
