Paper Cranes

Poetry for Peace Contest

The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.

Below is one of the contest entries.

Bombing on Hiroshima and Nagasaki

How can you do this?

Let people die for

no reason! Those innocent faces and innocent lives that you have taken

away

Their bodies burned, exposed to radiation, having loss of hair, cancer, and most of all

DEATH.

The war had to end

You probably had no choice

If you didn't drop those bombs the war would have

continued, and more death would have happened

I am not saying what is right or wrong.

I see the angle of both sides.

There was only thing that stands out in this entire war

THE DEATH OF INNOCENT PEOPLE

Lets try to work together so no more nuclear bombs or weapons are dropped

on people.
