Paper Cranes

Poetry for Peace Contest

The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.

Below is one of the contest entries.

Sun shine blue skies

Smokey day full of ashes

People dying, people burning.

This is all caused by the atomic bomb.

Wars are bad, just try to shine!

Even though your skin is shattered or

Your hearts are splattered, don't forget

To have hope because there's always going

To be someone to rob the show.
