Below is one of the contest entries.
THAT DAY Monday, August 6, 1945 5:30 in the morning just waking up, had to go to work at the Mitsubishi Weapons Factory. It seemed like a regular day, like any other day. Around 11:02, that’s when everything went bad. It’s been like I had just blinked my eyes and everything had changed, it went from a regular day to a dark and the day of death. When I had gone outside all I saw was fire, black, and all dead bodies. I had ran for my life home to see if my family was alive. I had reached there and all I saw were dead bodies, I had lost everyone, everything and knew other had to. I was devastated to see how the bodies were treated. I had fallen to my knees so many times crying. I just couldn’t see this anymore, and then a couple of days had past away because of radiation. I had written this from the beyond to express how I felt.
