Below is one of the contest entries.
What is a world, where young children die? What is a world where all people cry? What is a world where we live in fear? Where we don’t know if we’ll live another year? Children should grow up, and live full lives, The world should not be filled with sorrowful cries, The people should not be afraid of how to survive, And should not be worried, about how they will thrive, Why, oh why, do we choose to live in such a place? Where we are killed and slaughtered according to race? Why do we choose to create nuclear bombs with their crashes and booms? Sending innocent people to their eternal tombs? Why is it common for our children to be killed? Why are nuclear weapons all stocked up and filled? We should drain each country of their nuclear arm, Preventing each other from these disastrous harms, Create a peaceful sanctuary where we are safe and all right, A world of harmony, where people don’t fight, A world where the children can grow up a ease, Make this a reality, please, oh please!
