Paper Cranes

Poetry for Peace Contest

The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.

Below is one of the contest entries.

I see hurt people that died
Was alive and nice
I see cars that blew up
A bike
I think if I was there
I would try to make it a safe place
I think the day would be better
If the boom landed over there
I think they should move to another page
I feel sad and bad for the people
I don't like the people who did that
I feel happy that half of the people were alive.
