Below is one of the contest entries.
The Beginning Bam!!! Debris flies all over, everything is ablaze. Stunned, shock, burned, hurt... Bam!! The sudden rendezvous between the soil and annihilation, the loud reverberation and burst is again transpired And almost simultaneously, comely faces are blown back by the sudden explosion. Burned, harmed and many deaths. The Hibakusha is forever traumatized, having to witness the immediate deaths of the citizens of Japan. The memory of being covered in debris and seeing corpse all around the floor. Searching day and night to find there homes only to be destroyed. Attempting to find close friends and relatives, but only to find them hopeless, helpless and injured. What happened? Technology happened, the atomic bomb happened. The city of Hiroshima and Nagasaki is shattered by the evil forces of mankind. The harm done is omnipotent, permanent, irreversible, irreplaceable......... Ask yourself as human beings. What are we doing? Think for a second? Is fighting the solution? Is the death of innocent civilians the solution? As violence, wars, advancement in killing continues, Will we ever find peace? Or the demise of human race will begin. The atomic bomb is just the beginning of deadly weapons. What is the end?
