Paper Cranes

Poetry for Peace Contest

The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.

Below is one of the contest entries.

The horrifying moment scary in every way,
Probably the longest day,
Seeming to never be able to reach may,
Losing the ones dearest to you,
What pain it must be,
The sadness that fills the air,
Thinking that it’s no fair
There’s no way to change the past,
But to continue living on,
Trying to change the world,
Making a change
Peace for all,
Unity for all,
All for All
