what did you do in the war dad
fire a rifle or drop a bomb
sail a ship Drive a truck or a tank
did you ever kill anyone dad
did you ever kill anyone

did you ever take a bayonet dad
and fix it to a gun
charge the enemy like a hero
did you ever kill anyone dad
did you ever kill anyone

did you fight them toe to toe dad
in the streets from home to home
or wrestle for life and victory
did you ever kill anyone dad
did you
did you ever kill anyone
