Below is one of the contest entries.
The clear blue sky and a peaceful bliss The children playing, the parents watching A day so calm, it’s like a fantasy Birds flying in the sky, squirrels climbing trees Dreams of a day there is no war Nature goes on, while humanity stands still. Buildings collapsing in clouds of smoke, Fires raging war across the trees Shadows etched forever against lonely walls Cries of pain, cries of longing will never go away Walking through roads, not being able to tell brick from bone. The once pure blue river, now poisoned forever red. Living now changed, unrecognizable, covered in burns. A blissful peace in the story of war, Or battles now ended, forever in chaos and destruction. A choice to be chosen, which shall it be?
