The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.
Below is one of the contest entries.
SONG OF PEACE When the willows fall When the billows roll We freely flee to fall off the tip Where mother earth swings her flat hips But the world goes round Like karma's gown So On meadow chains, where flowers smile On rainbow lanes, where angels file Let laughter's loft be see-saws seeds ride Let love's lounge house the reason of pride So Let's hold hands, not arms to shoot Let peace by domino's effect consume Black or white, black and white Let gloom meet light Let the only song our lips release Be one of peace.
