Inter-Agency Support Group
At its 12th session in September 2006, the United Nations Chief Executives Board (CEB) took the decision to establish an inter-agency support group for the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The first meeting of the Inter-Agency Support Group (IASG) was held on 13-14 December 2007 at United Nations headquarters in New York. The second meeting was held on 19-20 June 2008 in Geneva, hosted by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and co-chaired by the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), which together consitute the joint Secretariat of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
