Proceedings of the Asian and Pacific Ministerial Conference in Preparation for the World Summit for Social Development

This publication contains the proceedings of the Ministerial Conference held in Manila from 12 to 18 October 1994. It presents the basic outputs and background documents of the Conference, including the reports of the Ministerial and Senior Officials segments of the Conference, the Manila Declaration on the Agenda for Action on Social Development in the ESCAP Region, the Concordance to the Agenda for Action, and the major reports prepared by the ESCAP Secretariat for presentation to the Conference.

The Ministerial Conference adopted the Manila Declaration on the Agenda for Action on Social Development in the ESCAP Region. The regional Agenda for Action adopted at Manila served as a basic input into the preparations for the World Summit for Social Development as well as a basis for intensified efforts by the countries of Asia and the Pacific to enhance the quality of life of their people.
