Desde 1948, se celebra el aniversario de la entrada en vigor de la
Carta
de las Naciones Unidas, el 24 de octubre de 1945, como Día de
las Naciones Unidas. Tradicionalmente, las celebraciones en todo el mundo
incluyen reuniones, deliberaciones y exposiciones sobre los objetivos y
los logros de la Organización. En 1971, la Asamblea General recomendó
que todos los Estados Miembros celebrasen ese Día como feriado oficial
(resolución
2782 (XXVI)).
