English courses in New York
provide on-site English and communication skills training for eligible staff
at United Nations Headquarters.
Three terms per year, as part of the
Language and Communications Programme (LCP), our courses include:
Level 1 (advanced beginner) to Level 8 (advanced), learn the
fundamentals of English.
For non-native speakers
on a specific skill or goal - such as writing skills or preparing for
an English proficiency exam.
work-related skills needed by United
staff (e.g. Report Writing or Presentation Skills).
For both non-native and native speakers
English study opportunities

English learners to interact with native speakers - while also

English Language Proficiency Exam (ELPE)
Once per year,
United Nations staff and affiliated diplomats worldwide have
to prove their English profiency by taking this exam.
