Duffy
Patricia
Duffy has been an instructor in
the United Nations Language and Communications Programme since 1985.
She has also taught English as a Second Language (ESL) at New York
University and the City University of New York. Her overseas teaching
experience includes stints at Jiangsu Television University and Suzhou
University in the People's Republic of China.
In addition to
teaching, Ms Duffy is the creator of the instructional website, Action
through Words: Learning English through learning about the United
Nations. She is also the author
of two ESL textbooks: Variations:
Reading/Oral Communication
Skills and Focus
on Innovations and Innovators,
and Blue Cats,
a book about perception.
She is a member of
the UN Society of Writers and is its liaison to the UN 1% for
Development Fund.
Ms Duffy has a
Master of Arts (MA) in Teaching English as a Second Language from
Teachers College, Columbia University.
