English courses in New York
We
provide on-site English and communication skills training for eligible staff
at United Nations Headquarters.
Three terms per year, as part of the
Language and Communications Programme (LCP), our courses include: |
Regular
courses |

From
Level 1 (advanced beginner) to Level 8 (advanced), learn the
fundamentals of English.
For non-native speakers |
Special
courses
|
|
Focus
on a specific skill or goal - such as writing skills or preparing for
an English proficiency exam. |

|
|
Learn
work-related skills needed by United
Nations
staff (e.g. Report Writing or Presentation Skills).
For both non-native and native speakers |

Learn about the United Nations
while developing your English language. This free online self-study course was
designed by our instructor, Pat Duffy.
Join the Friends of the
United Nations
English Club,
a free-to-join group that provides opportunities for
advanced-level
English learners to interact with native speakers - while also
exploring New York.
Try other opportunities,
recommended by teachers and students in our programme - and available
even to those not eligible to take our courses.

The
English Language Proficiency Exam (ELPE)
Once per year,
United Nations staff and affiliated diplomats worldwide have
the chance
to prove their English profiency by taking this exam. |
