Online course: Readings in U.N. Documents
 
Time and dates:   1 hour per week for 12 weeks.  Please consult posted schedule for details.
Description:    This course is designed for advanced students who wish to enrich their readings with a touch of U.N. documents in Chinese. In addition to U. N. documents (speeches, reports, circulars, resolutions, etc.), course readings will also include U. N.-related articles such as news stories and commentaries. This course is offered online, thus you can take it either in the office or at home. Each week, a lesson will be delivered via email, which consists of a text complete with glossaries, pinyin and necessary grammar notes, and an audio file of the text. At the end of the week, students will be asked to complete an assignment to check their comprehension of the text. Assignments and exercises will either be sent by email or made accessible at the programme’s website
Prerequisite: Level 8
Tools Needed: A computer with MS Chinese language pack installed, and Clavis Sinica or other Chinese reading-assisted software. Please contact the programme if you need assistance with the installation of the MS Chinese language pack and the purchase of Clavis Sinica.
Notification: To find out your class schedule, consult the lists posted on the 6th floor and the first basement of the Secretariat building, or the second floor of the DC-2 building before the start of the new term.
