Information and Communications Technology Section

The Information and Communications Technology Section (ICTS) is responsible for providing technology services and solutions to support complex and multilingual work processes of the Department for General Assembly and Conference Management (DGACM), including the Office of the President of General Assembly.  The Unit manages and delivers technology infrastructure (hardware and software) and supports other related services assisting up to 1,500 DGACM users at the Headquarters.
                               
ICTS consults and collaborates on technology advances with other duty stations (Geneva, Nairobi and Vienna), ITSD/OCSS/DM, other UN departments and international organizations to advance the work programme of DGACM and IT strategies for the implementation of conference services applications.

ICTS has the primary responsibility of implementing automation projects recommended and approved by the departmental Information Communication and Technology Committee (ICTC). It provides technological innovation relating to processing, publishing, and distribution of official documents of the United Nations in six official languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish).  ICTS develops, integrates and customizes information management systems relating to meetings, documents and language services.
