Anniversary of the 1956 movement in Hungary

On 16 October 2006, Mr. Amir Dossal made a statement at the exhibition ‘Annus Mirabilis, 1989, Hungary; the Year that Accomplished what 1956 started” organised by the Internationa Centre for Democratic Transition ( a partner of the Democracy Fund) and the Permanent Mission of Hungary to the UN.

In his remarks, Mr. Dossal praised Hungary as a living example of long-term commitment to the values of democracy and human rights and for its successful transition to democracy. He also recognized the positive role played by Hungary in the establishment of the UN Democracy Fund.
