QUESTIONS AND ACTIVITIES
  1. List and describe some of the means through which infectious disease are transmitted to humans.

  2. Identify one disease for each means of transmission. From the 'disease list' in the curriculum, describe the symptoms for each of those diseases.

  3. Identify some diseases that may be transmitted in more than one way.

  4. Why is identifying the chain of transmission so important to controlling the spread of infectious diseases?

  5. Why has it been so difficult, in recent times, to curb the spread of Tuberculosis and Malaria?

  6. Read all the sections entitled "The chain". Based on these, propose some measures that can be taken to help curb the spread of infectious diseases.
