WASTE - DECHETS - ELRECICLAJE Reduction and Recycling  WASTE

Green Team

Throughout the year we have grown enormously, after starting off the year with just recycling our school's paper and drink containers. This has turned out to be a hit. We have so far saved over 12 trees and over 10,000 hours of electricity.

From this we have expanded to writing letters to governments (near and far) concerning environmental issues and protection of children and animals to memberships with GreenPeace and the World Wildlife Fund (where we raised $25.00 to save an acre of the rainforest.) and to local projects such as protesting to Filmon to protect the Manitoba Lowlands(lake areas).

Our most recent accomplishment has been to be covered by our city's newspaper. This was a result of sending them information regarding the effects of using pesticides on our lawns.
